Muchos de nuestros lectores están preocupados y no saben si deberían continuar con sus cuentas de las redes sociales abiertas o si realmente es mejor cerrarlas por temor a que el departamento de inmigración tome represalias en contra de ellos, y ese temor se ha apoderado en particular en los indocumentados.
Bueno, primero que nada debemos de entender por qué razón el departamento de seguridad nacional ahora estará mirando con lupa las cuentas de las redes sociales de los ciudadanos americanos y esto aplica si tiene o no tiene papeles.
Esta medida es por la principal razón de proteger a este país de cualquier amenaza a la nación o a nivel personal. Hoy día ni siquiera por chiste deberíamos de escribir o subir nada a la red que tenga que ver con cualquier tipo de amenaza o que se interprete como una amenaza a la nación o a una persona, algo que nos podría acarrear problemas serios.
Muchas de las fotos que vemos en las redes a diario de ciertas personas nos llaman la atención y muchos las suben con ese fin de crear atención en sus publicaciones, sin embargo, no se están dando cuenta de lo serio que hoy es subir contenido que nos comprometa. Si a nosotros nos llama la atención dicha publicación, téngalo por seguro que a ICE también le llamará la atención.
Por citar un ejemplo, quizás usted sube una foto de EL Capo Guzmán, ya usted sabe que con esa foto lo van a relacionar con el narcotráfico, algo que a la hora de que usted vaya a su cita ante un juez de inmigración le podría costar que le nieguen su residencia o si ya la tiene, puede que comiencen una investigación en contra de usted.
Otro ejemplo, muchos están arreglando papeles por un ciudadano americano y de pronto usted sube fotos con otro hombre en un restaurante, y no es la persona quien supuestamente lo está pidiendo a usted y con quien está casado(a), de nuevo, eso frente al juez al momento que le vayan a dar su residencia lo podría afectar y ser denegada.
Estos son solo ejemplos de muchas cosas que hoy día debemos de evitar subir en las redes sociales ya que nadie es inmune a lo que subimos y créalo, aunque usted tenga su Facebook privado se puede sorprender de cómo es que ahora el gobierno podrá rastrear lo que usted sube.
Esto que está pasando no es para que cerremos nuestras cuentas en las redes, sino más bien debemos de ser cautelosos de cómo las utilizamos. Debemos de aprender a darles buen uso y no subir cosas que realmente nos comprometan en el futuro.
Las redes sociales son, y seguirán siendo un recurso bueno ya que nos permiten estar en contacto con familiares y amigos, así que no debemos de tener temor si las usamos correctamente.
A publication may cost you your deportation

Many of our readers are worried and do not know if they should continue with their social network accounts open or if it is really better to close them for fear that immigration retaliates against them, and that fear has taken hold, particularly in the undocumented.
Well, first of all, we must understand why the Department of Homeland Security will now be looking closely at the accounts of social networks of American citizens, and this applies whether or not they have papers.
The main reason for this measure is to protect this country from any threat, to the nation or on a personal level. Nowadays, we should not write or upload anything, not even for a joke, to the network that has to do with any kind of threat or that is interpreted as a threat to the nation or to a person, something that could cause us serious problems. Many of the photos we see on the daily networks of certain people catch our attention and many upload them for the purpose to create attention to their publications, however, they are not realizing how serious it is to upload content that compromises us. If we are interested in that publication, please rest assured that it will also appeal to ICE.
To cite an example, perhaps you upload a photo of EL Capo Guzman, and you know that that photo will relate to drug trafficking, something that when you go to your appointment before an immigration judge, could cost your residence denied or if you already have it, they may start an investigation against you.
Another example, many are arranging papers with an American citizen and suddenly you upload photos with another man in a restaurant, and it is not the person who is supposedly asking for you and who you are married to, again, that in front of the judge at the time that they are going to give you your residence could affect you and it could be denied.
These are just examples of many things that today we should avoid uploading to social networks because nobody is immune to what we upload and believe it, even if you have your Facebook private, you may be surprised at how now the government will be able to track what you go upload.
This is not happening so that we close our accounts in the networks, but rather we must be cautious of how we use them. We must learn to give them good use and not to upload things that really commit us in the future.
Social networks are, and will remain a good resource, as they allow us to be in contact with family and friends, so we should not be afraid, if we use them correctly.
